Moms First
Moms, how often do you actually get to be in the photo? Now is your time to shine! I always recommend mom wear a dress, but, ultimately, I want you to wear whatever you feel the most comfortable in. Dress yourself in something you feel relaxed, confident, and beautiful in and then build the rest of the family around your outfit.
Coordination Is Key
Pick two to three colors that are flattering for everyone and work those colors into each outfit in different ways. A few colors I love to photograph are shades of blue, greens, tans, browns, whites, and grays. Feel free to mix in a pattern or two as long as the colors coordinate. Try to avoid hot pinks and bright oranges, neon colors, or all black outfits.
Fellas
Guys, I want you to feel like the best version of yourself when you look at these photos. Wear clean, well ironed shirts and good shoes. Add some interest with details like cool socks, a stocking cap, or a great watch.
Shoes, Shoes, Shoes
Shoes play an important role for the overall look of your photos. Don't forget about the shoes! Even no shoes can be the best option depending on location and time of year. Leave your crocs and tennis shoes at home. You’ll thank me later :)
Accessories
When it comes to your photos, think textures, layers, and movement. Try a flowy maxi dress, a cable knit sweater, an oversized denim jacket, a cozy scarf, or even a fun hat. Accessories can add a lot of interest and life to your images.
